Secure payment solutions and enhanced user experience
Fuelled by increased card use, which has been driven by the health crisis, it is expected that contactless payment transactions (smartphones and cards) will reach $6 trillion globally by 2024. (source: Juniper Research)
Contactless card payments will significantly increase, in particular in the USA. Although the adoption rate of contactless bank cards was quick in some countries, such as Australia, South Korea and Canada, others including the US and Japan were way behind. Habits however changed with the health crisis, which greatly accelerated the demand for contactless payment. Juniper estimates contactless cards transactions will surpass £1.5 trillion in 2024, risibng from $178 billion in 2020.
The growth will be fuelled by the promotion of contactless cards by banks and the improvement of the contactless infrastructure in the market.
With the growing competition, banks require innovative ways to attract new clients, in particular premium clients. In response to this, Paragon ID, through its subsidiary Amatech, has launched the world’s first metal cards with a dual interface allowing the ability to activate contactless payment on both sides.
Pioneers in Fintech
Paragon ID’s subsidiary AmaTech is a pioneer in the development of RFID applications aimed at the banking industry and its suppliers. The company is recognised worldwide for its technology and innovations.
In 2018, the launch of the technology enabling the production of metal contactless bank cards was a break-through on the fintech market. Our clients can benefit from AmaTech's technology and expertise by purchasing the inlays and DI chip modules or purchading the license of the patented technology.
Our innovative metal cards
Our EMV metal bank cards contain the world’s first inlay with a dual interface chip module and meet the high security requirements of RFID-enabled smartcards in the payment sector. The fact that the card is contactless on both sides enhances the convenience and efficiency and therefore the customer experience as a whole.
Mainly aimed at premium customers and seen as a luxury accessory, metal bank cards are becoming more popular and accessible with new ones being launched with no fees attached. To answer this growing requirements, we have developed a selection of construction, finishing and weight catering for a wide range of customers.
These different options allow issuers of payment cards (banks, financial service providers, etc.) to offer "packaged" luxury metal cards bundled with a range of privileges and benefits personalised to their customers and their lifestyles. A prestigious card for a truly premium offer.
