Paragon ID, proud to facilitate secure and easy access to Paris transport
For over 100 years, Paragon ID has been accompanying public transport users in the Paris region. From the 1st metro ticket in 1900, to the introduction of the iconic magnetic ticket in the 70s, and from the Navigo pass (1997) to the rechargeable paper card (2024), we have been present at every milestone and technological evolution of the Parisian transport ticket.
Magnetic tickets and Navigo passes
As a global specialist in providing transport tickets – tickets, cards, and applications – we have earned the trust of Paris transport's authority, which has awarded us several contracts for the supply and personalisation of transport tickets (magnetic tickets, Imagine R and Navigo cards).
A new generation of "paper & reusable" cards
Initiated by the teams at Île-de-France Mobilités (IDFM), a new generation of reusable paper cards has recently been introduced in Parisian transport. The aim is to offer a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly version of contactless technology, and to help replace single-use magnetic tickets.
Île-de-France Mobilités has chosen Paragon ID as one of the suppliers of these new "Calypso Light" rechargeable and reusable paper cards.
An additional personalisation service
In addition to supplying these next-generation cards, Paragon ID has been awarded a contract for the personalisation and worldwide delivery of these tickets on demand. Conceived by the IDFM teams and implemented by Comutitres, this service allowed visitors from around the world to order their preloaded transport ticket and receive it at home before traveling to Paris this summer.
This service is carried out in France at our secure Solutions and Services workshop, where we personalise and send millions of cards every year.
This is great recognition of Paragon ID's industrial and technological expertise, and we are proud to be helping to simplify access to public transport for millions of users.
