Transit app and Paragon ID launch mobile ticketing partnership
Paragon ID, a leader in identification and payment solutions for Smart Cities, and Transit, the leading mobility app available in more than 300 cities worldwide, are launching a partnership to integrate Open ABT, Paragon ID’s mobile ticketing platform, into the Transit app.
By combining Paragon ID’s Open ABT platform and Transit’s top-rated user experience, cities and transit agencies can now provide their riders with a complete Mobility-as-a-Service experience, including:
- trip planning
- real-time data
- mobile payments
- shared mobility (bikeshare, scooters, microtransit, and more)
Paragon ID has been providing tickets and smart cards for some of the largest agencies in North America since 2006. In 2018, it built upon its experience in physical ticketing to deploy a mobile ticketing application that is used in over 80 public transit systems worldwide. With offices in France, the U.K. and the U.S., it has expanded into a full account-based ticketing platform called Open ABT that includes contactless validators.
Founded in 2012 and based in Montreal, Transit is the partner app of more than 75 transit agencies, including the STM (Montreal), LA Metro (Los Angeles) and the MBTA (Boston). After deploying its first mobile ticketing integration in 2019, Transit now sells tickets for more than 60 agencies, the most for any MaaS app in North America.
The partnership between Transit and Paragon ID supports Open ABT’s entry in the competitive North American mobile ticketing fare payments space, by giving transit agencies a quick to deploy, top-rated offering that has already proven its success in the European and Canadian market. Together, Paragon ID and Transit will collaborate to provide their all-in-one “plan, book and pay” app solution to transit agencies and operators of all sizes around the globe.
Transit is available in the App Store or Google Play, or by visiting www.transitapp.com.
